T h e S i t e Well, for one thing, Dogma has been my
favorite movie ever since my
boyfriend talked me into seeing it. I admire the satirical look at the
Catholic church because I like how most people don't get that Kevin Smith
was really trying to point out issues he had with the church while still
poking fun at the whole Catholic dogma as a whole. I actually got a
chance to meet Smith face to face and he's a really nice guy with a great
sense of humor, which is why I think that this movie doesn't TRULY come
across as offensive, which wasn't his intent, but rather makes you sit and
think about what you've accepted as fact and law your entire life and
makes you want to question it, which is (to me) the whole point of
religion anyways- to question. Sorry about getting sidetracked to the
religious part of it, but back to Dogma, I especially enjoyed Alan
Rickman's character...so dry and witty, but gets the point across, mostly
with quite amusing results, like when he tells Bethany she'll have help
from two prophets...sort of. I just really can't pick just ONE point of
the movie I loved because I really just enjoyed it all...though the part
about the Cardinal's blessed golf clubs was a trip. T h e M o v i e T h e F a n l i s t i n g s . o r g

About
This site came about mainly because Kayleigh asked if someone wanted to be the new owner of the
Dogma fanlisting. I have been a fan of the movie ever since my boyfriend
convinced me to give it a chance, and I was hooked! So, when she asked, I
sent in a request, and since I feel it explains my feelings about the movie more
fully, here's what I wrote her:
(This comes from IMDB.com)
The great grand niece of Jesus Christ is enlisted to prevent two angels from
reentering Heaven and thus undoing the fabric of the universe. Along the way,
she is aided by two prophets, Jay and Silent Bob. With the help of Rufus, the
13th Apostle, they must stop those who stand in their way and prevent the angels
from entering Heaven.
For those of you who may not know what a fanlisting is, according to the sages
at TFL.org, it is:
A fanlisting is, quite simply, a listing of fans. Fanlistings are similar to any other group or club you might join.
You can join a fanlisting to 'show your love of something.' Most fanlistings have small codes, buttons, or plaques
available which you can display on your own website if you'd like. Our site definition of a fanlisting is: "A
fanlisting is simply an online list of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created
by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements
to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are);
they are just a place where you can sign up with other fans. TheFanlistings.org is the original (but not
official) web directory for fanlistings, dedicated to uniting the fans." And, fanlistings are just a fun idea of
something to add to your site and a way to collect fans in one place. The concept was created to join together
fans of certain subjects, as a way of creating tighter fandom communities.
