Series Information

In the Chronicles of Narnia series, C.S. Lewis had a manner in which he wanted his material presented, even though it was fictional.  Therefore, the listing of the books are as follows:

  1. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

  2. Prince Caspian

  3. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

  4. The Silver Chair

  5. The Horse & His Boy

  6. The Magician's Nephew

  7. The Last Battle

However, when the series was republished, the publishers saw fit to put it in chronological order, which was apparently done after a comment Lewis made that said he thought it should be read in this order.  So, here's how it's listed now:

  1. The Magician's Nephew

  2. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

  3. The Horse & His Boy

  4. Prince Caspian

  5. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

  6. The Silver Chair

  7. The Last Battle

Not much difference, but still, I think Lewis wanted to just throw the reader into this world, without any knowledge of how it originated, as does any good fantasy writer, and then expanded upon it as needed.  Nonetheless, here are links to the stories, as well as a chronology Lewis created, though more for his own peace of mind then anything else.  The teasers are from Into the Wardrobe, and the synopses themselves are from Narnia.com.
